Coding is the key
The
charge for a specific patient is determined by three factors;
- The indicated services provided;
- The emergency physician's documentation of the services; and
- The expertise of the individual coding the chart.
It is the expertise of the individual coding the chart that truly sets ART apart from other billing services. We use nurses with Emergency Department experience to code our charts. With over 100 years combined ED experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge of Emergency Department procedures, along with the all-important ability to communicate with physicians on their terms.
Our coding specialists review the documentation on each chart, verify the appropriateness of any CPT codes already assigned by the treating physician, and assign all ICD-9 and other CPT codes which are applicable. In doing so, the client group's billing are maximized while assuring patients are billed appropriately for the services they have received.
